I am very pleased with this bike holder. The shipping was quick, and it's free! This is the perfect space saver for a small area. It was very easy to install; it took maybe 10 minutes. You just turn the pole and it secures itself to the ceiling and the floor, screw on the bike rests and you're done! No screws are necessary though the rack does have holes for them should you choose to attach it that way. We have two bikes on it and there's no problem with the weight. If you bump it the bikes will swivel a bit so there is a little give in it. The one piece of advice that I could give is to make sure that you are hitting a beam in the ceiling before you screw it in tightly. We almost made a hole in the ceiling before we checked. Good luck!

not too bad. Its really really easy to install, ships super fast. Only complaint I have is that the angle tighteners do not tighten the whole way, so basically they just rotate and the bike balences on them. I was not aware of this when I bought it. It looks good and is pretty sturdy. No problem holding two bikes, there's more than enough room. Just having the actual bike holder part not tighten is a upsetting.

Don't buy this hangar for anything other than sheets and towels. The product is very poorly designed, and poorly constructed. First of all, you cannot crank the the top and bottom screws tight enough to secure the rack, between the floor and ceiling, without bending the pole. In addition the pole comes in two sections with two differenct diameters - a small diameter chrome plated section that telescopes inside of a larger diameter painted piece, but the attachment cleats on the hangars can only be tightened over the larger diameter section, making the top section unusable. The weight of my bike was enough to rip the hangar off the chrome section, causing it to fall to the floor, even though I cranked the knob as tight as possible.

At our children's urging we recently purchased bicycles for ourselves so that we could take family rides together. Since we are not experienced cyclists, perhaps I am not the best judge of a bike rack; in fact, this is the first bike rack I have ever owned and perhaps that makes me a mite too critical.
That being said, however, on the whole, I am very pleased with this rack. It holds our four bikes extremely securely, including my women's frame bike (one of the reasons we decided to go with a platform-style bike rack, like this one). The bikes, when firmly fastened, don't budge at all. I like the fact that the bike rack tilts upward, away from the road, which gives us an added sense of security when driving over bumps. I like the fact that the arms ratchet down, rather than screw down, as a competitive rack does, as I find that we are often securing and then releasing the arms to better the position the bikes. Screwing and unscrewing would drive me up the wall. Plus, the... Read more

If you are considering this rack, you have the same questions I had. How much of a hassle is it to hook up? Will the bikes ride securely without knocking into each other? Will the rack wobble/shake? Can you really load 4 bikes securely? Can road bikes fit as securely as MTBs? I've driven my '08 Yukon over 2,000 miles with the rack on back for the last 10 weeks. I've had 1,2,3,& 4 bikes loaded at various times. My simple answer is that it does all of the above well and therefore I highly recommend it.
Concerns: This is not a light rack (which is why is rides so securely) and though I can set it up on my vehicle myself, it is much easier with two people. The arms that come down to secure the bikes have a black pad that contacts your bike. This pad for some reason leaves a resin on the bike so I always put a rag between the arm pad and my bike to eliminate the resin marks. No big deal but the manufacturer should change this in its next product iteration. It... Read more

Best rack I have owned due to total versatility. Fits a Toyota Sequoia perfectly and the threaded hitch pin pulls tight to prevent lateral movement. Any style bike will go on this rack because of the unlimited individual adjustibility. The frame work and welding is excellent. When the bikes are unloaded the rack folds up out of the way. Super quick on off loading. Just remember which bike goes in which position! Cons: Super poor instructions plus have a magnifying glass ready.

PRO'S: The Swagman RV Bumper Bike Rack Adaptor is very well made with heavy duty material. It is very easy to install and looks great.
CON's The (4) four nuts fit very, very tight and appeared to damage the threads of the bolts as you turn the nuts to tighten. You wouldn't have to worry about them falling off. However... I was concerned about getting them off if/when I wanted to move or remove the Swagman Adaptor. So I purchased (4) four new flat washers and (4) four new lock washers and (8) eight new nuts. (It takes "Metric" nuts). After putting the four bolts through the receiver and down through the bottom plate... I place the flat washer first, then the lock washer, then the first "Metric" nut and tightened all four nuts. The second Metric" nut was then placed and tightend up against the first nut. This is called double nutting. It may sound like an over kill but it works without any worry of the Swagman receiver comming loose on it's own. However... it... Read more

This is a well built, heavy duty accessory that just bolts right to a standard 4 inch travel trailer bumper. I took it on a 1,400 mile test run the last couple of weeks, and it performed perfectly.

The adapter worked well and accepted my bike rack just fine, except the the holes through the adapter for the hitch pin were not quite big enough for a my standard size hitch pin, so in order to make it work I needed to drill the holes out to a larger size.
