Sometimes you get just what you need. What I mean by that is the Swagman 64095 rack does the job better than more complex, and more common racks which swing down to allow the rear door of SUV style vehicles to be opened while the rack is in place. The reason is simple. I needed a rack for a car, not an SUV. Car trunk lids don't open outward, rather they tend go upward which allow most car trunk lids to open while this rack in place. The rack can also be easily stored in the trunk if desired. I should mention that I happen to have a spare ball hitch that wasn't being used. If I hadn't had the spare hitch, it would have necessitated an extra $20.00 to $25.00 expenditure to be able to use this rack.
